Welcome to my private practice! I look forward to hearing from you and guiding you towards wellness and a new way of living. I have over 18 years of experience working with individuals searching for a better path in life. My primary area of practice has been addiction, depression, anxiety and mood disorders. I am here to help you take control of your life through encouragement, education, support and empowerment. It would be a privilege to work alongside you as you start your journey to better emotional and mental health.
Walking the Talk Therapy is a form of therapy that is a little outside of the box – it is therapy while walking instead of having sessions in an office. You and your therapist are walking in an area you choose together, such as a nearby park or local trails. There are many benefits to this form of therapy. A few of the obvious ones are that you are getting fresh air and being active in a healthy way. Walking therapy also aids with a person’s ability for introspection and insight, allows for more creative solutions to problems, assists with quicker processing of issues and helps with reducing anxiety and depression.
I offer individual and family therapy sessions which vary from 45-minutes to 90-minutes based on your needs. Appointments can be scheduled as in-person or via telehealth. By giving you my undivided attention, guidance and empathy, I hope to create a safe, supportive, non-judgmental space where you can process emotions and experience interpersonal change. My approach is to encourage and challenge your potential to reach the goals you want to achieve. Success and happiness are attainable through hard work and willingness to push yourself. Let me help you through your journey of growth and healing one step at a time.
My career has varied and been comprehensive over the past 18 years. During this time, I have worked with diverse populations and developed expertise in various treatment modalities. Our experiences and life narratives are unique. However, we possess the ability to imagine and act upon new life choices and design a new vision of ourselves. I value focusing on strengths and past successes to address challenges and conflict that may be hindering you from achieving desired goals, especially improving your sense of well-being and interpersonal relationships. Clients have described me as compassionate, motivating, caring, committed and displaying a sense of humor, while being challenging, direct and honest in the therapeutic relationship.
Using evidence-based practices, I utilize distinct, culturally-appropriate interventions based on client needs and goals. I help clients gain awareness about their current dysfunctional patterns and identify changes they strive to make. My therapeutic techniques are multidimensional, which include Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and use of Addiction Medicine Best Practices, including implementing ASAM (American Society for Addiction Medicine) criteria for treatment. I have learned to effectively treat clients with substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem, life transitions, and interpersonal challenges.
Therapy can be emotionally painful and difficult, but also an empowering and rewarding investment for yourself. Through a supportive therapeutic relationship, commitment and time, you can learn to transform your unhealthy patterns of thinking and behaving toward implementing a new vision of who you are. This process can lead to emotional healing and interpersonal growth, as well as an enhanced, meaningful life with healthy relationships. I encourage you to take a deep dive into your sense of well-being and allow me to guide you through a journey of self-discovery and self-improvement.
